Fish Delegation to Ghana

Ghana’s annual requirements for fish are estimated at 880,000 tons with a deficit of approximately 460,000 t to be covered by import. The fishing industry in Ghana is based on resources from the marine and inland (freshwater) sectors, coastal lagoons and aquaculture.
In Denmark we have all the expertise within the fishing sector, which Ghana need. We have seen how Vietnam with Danish support has developed the export of fish and seafood, so the annual export today is between 4 and 5 billion USD.
With Danish assistance it is also possible to develop the Ghanaian fishing and aquaculture sector and now there is a possibility for Danish companies, institutions, organisations and vocational training centres to join the fishing delegation visit to Ghana in October.

The fish delegation to Ghana is planned to take place from the 25th to 29th October 2010.
